Hi after a very long time of hands being very good after injections ( I think a few years! Maybe 3?) my hands About 5 days ago started tingling at night then also through the day from my wrist all the way into my hands and hurt when I bend my wrists, I have already have I think about 3 injections that have helped. Hopefully can be seen again for assessment if appointment available, I have started wearing my wrist braces again at night and this has helped. Thanks Carol

Just thought I’d let you know after injections a couple of weeks ago hands back to normal no pain no tingling! Thanks to you and your team! Carol

Glad to hear it's worked again. Can you let us know how they feel at 6 weeks post-injection please. If you can add another severity score to the website at that point that's really useful for follow-up. JB

Hi
I’ve started to get pins and needles in my hands at night again, this is worse in my right hand, I’m wearing my hand supports at night which help a bit, it’s been just over a year I think from my last injections, I know these are uncertain times; I was wondering what can be done? I understand this is difficult and many people are waiting, just wondered on you thought’s
Thanks

I can add you to the list. We have cleared our backlog of pretty much everything except CTS but I do have quite a lot of CTS cases pending. We are trying to set up some extra clinics but it's a bit like wading through treacle. Looking at the latest symptom scores I guess we might get to you in 2-3 weeks JB

That would be great if you could add me to your list.

I’ve done my CTS again because my symptoms have got a lot worse over the last few days and are tingling all the time and when I’m carrying things I am getting pain in the base of my thumb & wrist too, just thought I’d update you, I’m using my hand braces at night which help, I thinking of wearing indoors in daytime, maybe this will help,

Hi
Ive had a problem with my whole arm, pain numbness pins & needles, the doctor thinks I have pinched nerve in my shoulder which I had tablets for and waiting for MRI on shoulder, in the last week it has stopped apart from my right hand which has constant pin’s & needles and numbness mainly from elbow to my little finger & ring finger, I’d like your thoughts whether this has affected my carpal tunnel in my right hand, should I come for test again? My left hand good.
Thanks appreciate your thoughts
Carol

The little and ring finger distribution is most commonly a result of problems with the ulnar nerve at the elbow - about which you can read here. Read through that page and let me know whether that makes sense for your symptoms. We can then probably test it again and check the ulnar nerve too. JB

Yes that definitely makes sense, As it started in my shoulder going down my arm and now mainly tingling like I’ve hit my funny bone & travelling down to my little finger & ring finger. My doctor has booked me in for an MRI to check for trapped nerve in my neck. I think I should give my doctor this information before I go. Do you agree? Also will this problem go on its own? As the treatment for this on paper doesn’t sound that successful, I am also having a check up from a specialist for Bursitis in my shoulder that I had problems with a while ago. Do you think this could have caused it?
Thanks

Hi I spoke with my shoulder specialist about if busitits could be the cause of my problem and he doesn’t think so
And agrees with you on the Cubital Tunnel Syndrome link you sent me. It’s exactly
the symptoms I’m having. Would it be ok to book me an appointment when you have one to get tested
Many thanks Carol

For testing the ulnar nerve I will just need an ordinary referral letter from your GP. By all means show them this discussion thread. About half of cases of ulnar neuropathy will improve if the elbow is just well protected from everyday minor trauma. JB

Thanks I will, hopefully it will improve on its own,
I will have to see
