Re CTS

Hi, I have an appointment to see you on the 28/7 as I am working the 2 earlier appointments offered to me. Since I had the injections last June, the left hand is good but the right is now giving me pain all the time, which I never had before. I get shooting pain into the hand and from the wrist up the arm. This morning due to the CTS I spilt a cup of tea into my lap, and after reading some of the posts on the forum I'm now worried I might drop something. I work with newborn babies and their mums and I'm just wondering if it would be better to wear the splint at work too, as well as at night. Also if I am offered surgery after retesting and their have been changes, how soon can you be given an appointment for this. I know you will probably have to see me first etc, etc but I'm quite concerned about this. Thanks

It's not that uncommon for the symptoms to be somewhat different on recurrence after an injection, even when the NCS results are exactly the same or better. You can wear a spling in the daytime if you are able to carry out your normal activities with it but I wouldn't do it if it just makes you even clumsier. Surgery waits are pretty short at present if you are not medically complicated - 2-6 weeks. We can try to fit in an earlier appointment around your work commitments if you like - there are for example two empty slots this morning created by cancellations I see. Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me, I've just finished a night shift but would like to come up depending on what time the appointments are. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks
Hilary
