6 week splint review EKH118695C

Following first consultation with Dr.Bland used splints on both hands overnight and achieved immediate relief allowing a full nights sleep. However although still wearing splints overnight I now get some pain in my right index finger & right thumb enough to wake me. After a short amount of exercise the pain goes and I can sleep again.
Still wearing splints overnight on both hands.
Maybe should have opted for the steroid injections ?
Pleased with results so far, thank you !
Kindest Regards
Peter

Pain specifically in the index finger is a little odd and might not be the CTS but it would do no harm to try an injection if you want. At least it would give us a chance to look at the finger - does it ever get stuck in a flexed position? JB

It tends to be the right thumb and index finger which get painful but never getting stuck in any position.
I'm happy to persevere with the splints a little longer.
Will let you know if there is no improvement in the next few weeks, and take your advice from then.

OK - give it about another 2-4 weeks and then we'll think about it. JB
