Referred by GP for surgery

I was referred back in March for consideration of surgery for carpal tunnel, previously my right hand was operated on at Beltinge Surgery. I have had injections on the left which have not worked. This was done by Dr Miles in house (great stuff, was happy with this) A couple of months went by contacted GP again to be told it had been submitted, but a long wait, a Month ago (6months since initial referral) to say I had not heard anything, so they resubmitted the referral. I got a letter from Kingsnorth Medical Practice saying you’re contact them. So I did, to see Mr Kelly. No appointments available. After much chasing, they offered me an appointment for a steroid injection on 12th December. They stated that Mr Kelly does not do surgery. I stated that had we gone down the route of an injection, I could have booked it in with my local GP practice back in March. However we are now 7 months on and I’m in no better position. I don’t know what to do now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had a referral for you recently, in March or otherwise. The last contact we had was in October 2016 when we arranged for the surgery for your right hand - which I hope has turned out well? Apart from that you have been cared for by your GP surgery and their associates who believe they can handle CTS perfectly well without my assistance. As you have been referred to us for treatment once back in April 16 the commissioners will allow you to self refer back to my clinic for further care, though I would find it much easier if I had full records of everything that everyone else has done to your CTS in the meantime. Would you like us to see you and try to sort out what is going on? JB

Thank you for responding! Yes please! I’ve not had any further injections or treatment since I saw you in my left. Right hand went well and I’ve had no complications. Do you want me to ask the surgery to send over the necessary documents?

Doesn't need much in the way of documents if nothing has been done sinde the previous surgery - usually the main thing I want to know is the dates and doses of injections. I'll just send out an appointment. JB
