Its back

Sorry to bother you but the pains are back I think the steroid injections have worn off . Its mainly my thumb and first finger in both hands and it is waking me up at night. No problems during the day when I am active.
I have been ill this year following a Covid Vaccination, I had respiratory problems ended up in A&E diagnosed with Pneumonia & Sepsis and subsequently Heart Failure. My treatment has been wonderful and successful and 7 months on I am active again and feeling well. I am hoping you might be willing to allow me another steroid injection in each hand. Having just got some form of normality back I am reluctant to think about surgery which would put me out of action for several weeks.
Also I have just read your appeal for help for treatment trials. I am probably too late to help but available if you still need help.
As a Magistrate I am used to reading reports and considering different aspects of rehabilitation and planning different courses of action. I apologise for not seeing your message earlier but If I can help with any planning I will.
Kindest regards Peter

Just add a new symptom score to the website and let me know and I'll book another appointment. JB

Just done it, sorry your reply did not come to my email so I will keep an eye on the forum. I am willing to wait until the New Year for an appointment.

I've put a new appointment in the post. This website was built using a now obsolete version of the content management system Drupal and it has now reached a point where all outgoing email from the site has failed - so no self service password resets, no notifications to either me or the users of new posts etc. We are working on an update but this is going to cost about 34k and we have no funding and some administrative hurdles to negotiate too such as new NHS requiirements for 2-factor authentication and accessibility standards, JB

Hello Dr. Bland,
I will be attending your clinic in Canterbury on Thursday 4th Jan at 15.30.
As i told you in December I have had a few problems earlier in 2023 resulting in Heart Failure. Although I am very well again now I am still on a selection of tablets and following my wife's suggestion, I am writing to inform you in advance the list of medication (which includes a blood thinner), in case this affects my ability to have further steroid injections. :-
EDOXOBAN 30mg. BISOPROLOL 7.5mg EPLERENONE 12.5mg DAPAGLIFLOZIN 10mg CANDESARTAN 4mg DIGOXIN 125mcg SIMVASTATIN 20mg FENOFIBRATE 200mg
Kindest regards
Peter

Thankyou - none of that will cause any real problems. I've deleted the spam posting. JB

Further to my appointment on 4th Jan 2024 with Emma. 6 weeks ago wow time goes so quickly when you can sleep at night again. The steroid injections worked instantly, quicker than the previous ones and i was free from night time pain within 24 hrs.
Emma was wonderful and although my left wrist was very colourful ( due to pressure on the edge of the washing up bowel )
I take more care now as that area is prone bruising , but I am still on washing-up duties. Hoping the steroid injections last a full year this time, all I can do is thank you both and confirm I am free from pain and other side effects of carpal tunnel
Kindest regards and best wishes.

Thank you for letting us know how you are getting on, glad to hear that the injections have helped again. I'd be interested to know if there is any change in appearance of the left wrist and do take a picture if there is anything particular, you could always email this to one of us. Glad to hear you are still washing up. Best wishes EK
