hand therapy
Hello
Went to see my surgeon last weekend, regarding my hand. (if you remember i had my hand done Dec 6th 2014) He said that i needed Intensive Physio on my hand, he couldnt understand why there is a difference in temp with both my hands, the one he operated on is alot hotter, sweatier than my right hand, and also he was concerned with the tendons sticking out of my arm. Ive rung my gp up and they know nothing about the physio, and they have told me that the clinic who operate do not sort out Physio, I actually feel now im been messed around, and this hand isnt getting any better. Its gradually getting worse.
The classic description of CRPS includes temperature, colour and skin changes in the affected limb so you may have some features of that and it is often managed by pain clinics. Its old name used to be reflex sympathetic dystrophy. The prominence of the tendons if it is on the flexor aspect of the wrist (the same side as the palm of the hand) is a simple consequence of cutting the transverse carpal ligament. It's a bit difficult to be sure exactly what you are describing though - can these things be captured in photographs? JB
We don't at present permit ordinary users to upload photographs but you are welcome to email them to me and I will take a look and let you know what I think. My email address is in the information pages of the site. JB
Also he mentioned sending me to a pain clinic, as i have cprs.
