CTS Surgery

I was recently diagnosed with CTS in both hands 5 right 3 left, I had surgery on my right hand on 30/5/15 and my symptoms are about 90% better. But I still have numbness in my right thumb, not as bad but still significant. My surgeon said it may take a while to get completely better, however there is a risk that these symptoms may persist. Does anyone know how long it will take for these symptoms to go, in their experience.
Starting out from grade 5 you can probably expect the symptoms to carry on improving for at least a year but I can't predict for certain whether the hand will ever return entirely to normal. One would expect the grade 3, on average, to recover further and be quicker about it. I'll move this to the Canterbury patients forum in a few days. JB
