It is Gareth Evans, I havent slept for 2 days now and have severe constant sharp pain that shoots all the way down my arm. I am unable to get my arm in a comfy position to ease it. And the support is not giving me any ease either. Is there another hospital near by that could do the steroid injection?

That would be great if you could bring it foward to the 9th of April. Are there any other clinics that could possibly do a steroid injection nearby as this pain is unbearable and by far the worst it's ever been? I've tried ibraprophen gel to see if it would help with the swelling but has made no difference and have taken Co codamol but not improvement with the pain

I can't find anyone else nearby, or indeed further away, who I would trust to do it. There are some independent GPs who do these but I'm not always impressed with the results so I try to stick to people who I know do a lot of them - one of the reasons I am reluctant to offer to do it myself. The degree of pain and swelling with CTS is unusual - do you want to drop in and see me tomorrow and let me take a look at it? JB

I've checked with surgery in primary care and they do not have any earlier slots with the GPs who we use for injection, nor can I get an earlier appointment with the hand surgeons. I do have a cancellation for earlier surgery (same surgeon) on the 9th April so we can bring your current surgery appointment forward by 3 weeks. As far as injection is concerned the only other option would be for me to do it and that's probably not a great idea. I am legally allowed to do it as a qualified medical practitioner but despite my longstanding interest in CTS this is something I have never done and you probably do not want to be my first! JB
