What next?
I've had CTS for approximately 3 months now which started whilst I was pregnant. I have noticed the pain has lessoned in the last 3 weeks however the numbness is worse. I had a consultation on Tuesday 3rd Jan and the outcome was I would have steroid injections to see if that helped (CTS grade 4 in left hand, 5 in right). Its been a week since my injections and there has been no change. I'm just wondering what to do next? As stated the pain is manageable now and isn't waking me up however the major of my fingers are constantly numb which makes everyday task difficult. As the pain has subsided should I just learn to live with the numbness or is the pain likely to return?
Ok thanks. I'll repeat the questionnaire at 2 & 4 weeks from injections and attend the clinic on the 16th.
It could do anything at this point. Unless it takes an obvious turn for the worse I think we should plan to repeat the tests about 6 weeks after injection - ie mid-February - so that we can assess objectively which way it is going. I've put you in the clinic of Thursday 16th Feb for now - stay in touch in case we need to change plans. Repeating the severity questionnaire on here 2 weeks and 4 weeks after injection would be interesting too if you can find the time. JB
