Pins and needles
I came for a consultation on 26/10/17 and had a steroid injection in my right wrist, I have started back at work this month since returning from maternity leave and I am experiencing a lot of pins and needles and loss of feeling in my fingertips.
I was offered an operation in October which I declined as I wanted to see if the steroid injection would work first.
As it seems the injection is wearing off, please could I make arrangements to have the operation completed?
No it’s not strenuous work. I work at a computer/ desk work. It currently isn’t anywhere near as painful/uncomfortable as it was before the steroid injection, but I’m so very worried that slowly it could become as painful as it was before. I will complete the new serverity score and would be more than happy to come in for a re-test. Thank you for your help with this, Amy.
I'll schedule a re-test once I can see the symptom score then. The surgery queues are fairly short at present so I'll hold off actually booking a date until we see what it's doing. JB
Ok great, I’ve completed a new severity test. As you can see from the outcome of the test my symptoms are currently mild at the moment but I’m concerned they will worsen over time and I’ll be in pain like I was before the steroid injection. Amy
OK that is fairly mild so we can afford to re-test and see what we're dealing with. I'll book that. JB
I have booked you an appointment and details will follow in the post. EK
Can you add a new severity score to the website for me please (in the 'MyCTS' pages). We have some surgery spaces in March I think and we can book one of those. I might be inclined to schedule a re-test as well, just so that we are sure about the severity of the nerve damage before anyone takes a knife to it. You didn't tell us in your original history what work you were going back to - just that you were on maternity leave - is this a very strenuous job? JB
