Pain relief

Hi I have had Carpal Tunnel before and the steroid injections seemed to do the trick. However, some 9 months later it has come back and my right hand is painful at the moment. I can't take anti-iinflammatories as they make me sick. I have Voltarol Gell but that doesn't seem to be touching it. I am struggling to type at work, have poor grip and driving is also painful. Is there anything I can take that will help apart from the obvious paracetamol. I have an appointment on 1 May so not long to wait. Struggling :(

Unfortunately the only things that have been definitely shown to work are splints, steroids and surgery. People have tried things like amitriptyline and gabapentin but with little consistent success. Some people find heat packs or icing - sometimes alternately - help. JB

Thanks very much. I will give that a go.
