Post steroid injection effects

Following a steroid injection in my L wrist on Thursday, I am sad to say that there is no change in symptoms. I still get the numbness as I described to you Jeremy, I have become aware of a kind of nerve twang if I make certain movements, which is a bit like an electric shock? The pain level for the steroid injection I would rate at 2/3. I give blood on a regular basis so perhaps it helps with regards pain and needles!
The night splint does help me not getting a dead hand which is a good thing. I will remain optimistic and see how the next few days go and post again.
Cheers.

So far that is tending to support my suspicion that the main problem may not be CTS but give it a few more days as it is at least showing a little response to splinting and occasionally you see apparently delayed responses to injection. JB

Hi Jeremy

Just wanted to say that 3 weeks on from having the steroid injection 30th Dec 2013, I am no longer needing to wear the night splints, yay! I am hopeful that again I will get maybe 18 months respite as was the case last time. I do get an occasional electric shock type sensation in my left hand which seems to correspond with a crunch/ ripping sound in the left side of my neck?

Just wanted to say "Thanks" it is so nice to be able to just get on with stuff again in a normal manner!
If you could pass on my thanks to the chap who administered the jab? I would be very grateful.

You can certainly get nerve related symptoms which are felt down the arm and into the hand from irritation of the nerve roots as they exit your spine so it's quite possible you have a problem there too but I'm glad it's feeling better overall. I'll pass on the message to Nick. JB
