hi there I was seen in clinic in march for the first time, discovered having carpal tunnel in both wrists. I went away with a wrist strap for my left hand only as I had no symptoms in my right hand. I now have symptoms in my right hand and arm also have pain and swelling in my left hand between my first 2 knuckles, restricting my grip at some things. please can I have some advice.

Interesting that there are now symptoms on the right, given that we did detect an abnormality on that side in March. It also sounds as though the left hand might need more than a splint and also that there may be something else as well as CTS on the left side so I think we should see you again and review the situation. I'll organise an appointment, and I'll move this discussion thread into the Canterbury patients forum in a few days too. JB

I've found a space at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon (Friday) if you can make it. JB

We had a telephone converation yesterday about the left side symptoms, these do not sound like carpal tunnel. I had suggested that these symptoms be discussed futher with the GP. The right hand does have more typical CTS symptoms but this side is not as bothersome. It may be helpful to have a look at your hands again if you are able to make it in. EK
