Returning symptoms

Hello,
I have CTS in both hands together with Dupytrens in both hands. I have had injections in both wrists to ease the symptoms which they have done to a good degree. I am at present awaiting surgery with Mr Smith to operate on the CTS and the Dupytrens on each hand. I have elected to have my right hand treated first as the Dupytrens is more severe. However the CTS symptoms in my left hand have returned with a vengeance, and given the waiting times is it possible to have another steroid injection in my left hand.

While the injections were working/ at their best did you feel that your symptoms were slightly better, much better or cured? Did you notice any side effects from the steroids?

Do you have any idea when you are likely to have the surgery with Mr Smith?

As it is almost 5 months since we last tested you I think we should retest your nerves and we should then be able to inject the left wrist again the same day as the testing. I will book you an appointment and send details out in the post. EK

The injections worked really well with only slight tingling in both hands. I attended a pre assessment clinic on the 12th. of September at QEQM. and I am now awaiting an admission date fo surgery at K&C.

Dr. Bland,
Since having injections lastTuesday, my symptoms have dramatically reduced. No pain in either wrist, but tingling and numbness in my left hand (level 4). Virtually no tingling in my right hand (level 3). Let’s hope this lasts up to my surgery date, (unknown at present). Many thanks to you and the team.

Glad to hear it's working as a holding measure. JB
