Injections
Hi I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel at the end of October and had steroid injections in both wrists I'm pleased to say my right wrist seems to be responding great but my left I'm still getting the pins and kneedles and pain that is now waking me at night having to use a splint that I did not have to use before
I'm thinking if you would say surgery would be the better option then that's what I would have to do not without worry but think I would always worry
We should be able to schedule surgery sometime in January I hope. Would that fit your schedule? You can read about what is involved here on the website. JB
I've booked your surgery date and sent the appointment details to you in the post
I had my surgery on my left hand on the 23rd January and thankfully it has been brilliant no more pain or pins and needles a little weak in my grip still but so much better than it has been in a very long time if anyone is worried about having this done I would recommend the surgery
I'm starting to get pins and needles in my right hand again think that my injection is starting to wear off now keep getting a burning feeling in my wrist what is the best thing to do
Could be heading for surgery on the other hand too I think. Your last nerve conduction studies are getting a bit out of date so can we see you on the morning of 6th June at 8:30 to check them out and discuss what to do next? JB
Hi I'm really sorry I missed my appointment would it be possible to rebook please
The next gap I have at present is 9th July at 15:30. I'll put a leter in the post JB
So it is the more severe side (grade 4) which is responding less well - perhaps that makes a sort of sense. We could try a second dose of steroids... or we could give up and operate on that one. At grade 4 I would have a slight preference for surgery - what do you think. JB
