5 weeks post op
Hi, I had the release op on my left hand about 5 weeks ago, my hand has healed but I have painful white lumps where each of stitches were, I had disposable stitches which didn't appear to dissolve at all and a nurse pulled them out as much as possible just over a week ago. She also put me on antibiotics as there is a hard lump to the side of it, this started to go down but now the antibiotics have stopped its appearing to get worse, with pain up and very sensative and the lump is back at the side. However gp nurse isn't confident it's an infection as no heat or redness. If I knock it I get awful pins and needles in my palm and pain. But otherwise no carpel tunnel symptoms. What would you suggest?
Many thanks
Hi yes it was actually Mr James in Canterbury that did it. I would be greatful if you would look at it please. It'd put my mind at ease. When would be a good time for me to pop in? Thank you
Anytime from 10:00am to 4:30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) would be fine. We can also manage Friday but Thursday would be better - just let me know when to expect you. It should only take 5 minutes to look at it - I just find it impossible to do on the web. JB
I'll pop along about 10 tomorrow morning (Thursday) thank you so much.
This was done by the hand surgeons wasn't it. I don't know what their suture preferences are in Ashford so it's a bit hard to comment. It's unlikely to be infected. If you want to drop in to Canterbury I can take a look at it and tell you what I think, or we could get a message to whichever hand surgeon did it and ask if they want to review. Otherwise it's a hard thing to assess in a web conversation. JB
