Could i have surgery instead of steroid injections

Hello there, i have an appt for steroid injections in 2 weeks, my symptoms have got worse in last 2 days, with bad pain now in my wrist as well as the swelling, could i have the surgery instead of these injections?
We can go ahead and book surgery but it will be at least 6 weeks until we can get a surgery slot so I would go ahead and inject them anyway. It might achieve a 'quick fix' and even if it doesn't cure it we may at least stop it deteriorating any further while waiting for surgery. Would you be able to travel to Herne Bay or Whistable for surgery - if so we will see what surgery spaces we have available on Monday when the office staff are back in. JB
