Review after 6 weeks of wearing a splint
I have tried the splint for about 6 weeks now.
It has helped to some degree, but not eliminated the symptoms and often causes rubbing and irritation by the morning.
After consideration, I would like to opt for the surgery with Chris James, please, if that is still an option?
Just sending an update:
The injection worked immediately and 6 weeks later I am still free from symptoms. I no longer get woken at night with numb fingers.
I guess I can post here again if anything changes, but for the moment all is good.
Thanks
You can indeed contact us directly if and when it causes problems again. Thanks for the update. JB
Return of symptoms in my left hand.
I am experiencing the same numbness that wakes me up at nights, but I also have pain in my wrist that I didn't experience before.
Could I try another injection?
Yes we can certainly do that but after a more than 6 month gap we usually re-test people, especially if your symptoms are slightly different, so I'll send out another appointment. JB
I understand that all appointments were cancelled due to Covid 19, but the pain in my left wrist has become much more severe and is affecting my every day life now.
Is there any update on when I might be able to come back and see you again?
I'll update the questionnaire.
Thanks
We are starting to see some patients again. I'll see what I can do when I get into the office in the morning. JB
Edit - I've found you a slot. We will give you a call with the details. JB
It's still possible but I'm a little worried at the combination of lack of response to splinting and normal NCS on that side. I think I should see you myself and probably lok at the ultrasound imaging of the nerve as well before we book you in for surgery - could you manage Monday? JB
