Follow up after steroid injections

Hi,
I had steroid injections in both hands on 18th June (left-3 and right-5), so just over 3 weeks ago now and you asked me to message with an update.

Both hands were greatly improved that first night, and I wasn’t woken with any pain, and haven’t been since.
I’ve still been getting a bit of tingling every now and again; when running pushing the buggy, driving for long periods of time, riding my bike, and some random times. However it’s been nowhere near as bad as before the steroid injections, and I’m very pleased with the improvement.

Thanks,

Francesca

Thanks for the update and I'm glad it seems to have worked for now.  We generally like to know what it's like at about 6 weeks after injection so in about another 3 weeks and if you can manage to complete a new severity questionnaire here on the website that helps to put numbers to the improvement. AFter that you just contact us directly if and when it starts to recur. JB

Hi, I’ve been beginning to get early symptoms again (pins and needles at night, whilst pushing my daughter in buggy when running), what would be the best thing to do? Thanks, Francesca

We should test you again and see how your nerves are, we can then arrange further treatment. I will book you a new appointment and send details in the post. EK

Hi, I have received my Appointment today for 20th feb. If there’s any last minute appointments before then, I’d be able to come along. Thanks

It's pretty busy at the moment - we haven't caught up from the Xmas holiday period when we lose a lot of clinics and on top of that there are several academic meetings and more staff holidays to work around so it's pretty tight. We'll watch out for cancellations but most often the first we know of a space is when a patient fails to turn up and it's then too late to offer the gap to someone else. Sorry! JB
