Getting worse cant sleep splints not helping sorry
My pain is getting progressively worse at night even though I wear the wrist splints. I get to sleep quickly have been almost pain free all day while I am busy. However after a few hours I am woken by severe pain in one or both hands. Then there is nothing I can do apart from get up and walk about or find something to do. Once I am busy the pain starts to ease. I go back to bed fall asleep and within an hour or so the pain wakes me again. And that's how my nights are now. I don't know what to do. I need advice please. Can I make another hospital appointment to see Dr. Bland ?
Thank you very much for your response, earliest appointment please no dates to avoid look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards PGG
It looks as though there is probably a gap tomorrow (Tuesday 10th March) at 12:30 if you are free. I can't check for certain until I get in to the office but that is what is showing on my screen at home. JB
Thank you, I can make myself available for your clinic at 1230 March 10th however if for any reason you need to cancel me in the morning of 10th please text mobile --------- before 1130 when I will be leaving home. Thank you again...... PGG
Thank you again for that quick appointment and a big thank you to Emma for coping with me, you were wonderful, and I am already sleeping pain free. Can't thank you both enough !!!!!...….PGG
Will update in 6 weeks.
Wow what a difference. Its 7 weeks now since Emma gave me those two steroid injections and the results have been amazing.
I now sleep at night totally free from pain . The only couple of occasions when I have experienced very slight numbness has been writing, reading and cycling and I simply needed to change my position to get normal feeling back.
The results have been so overwhelming I almost forgot to complete the 6 week notification. I have also completed a fresh assessment. For me this has been a complete life changer because the relief was instant (within a day ) and I have been pain free for 7 weeks. I cannot thank you enough. I don't like my inner wrists being touched and I hate injections so you can imagine the problem Emma had with me. I can still hear her saying "just relax I haven't touched you yet" as I looked the other way in trepidation. For me it was a big deal, but the results were worth those fearful few minutes. Thank you both again.
If I can be of any help in your new trials please let me know.
Kindest regards PGG
Thanks for ther update and I'm glad it's worked well. Of course we have to acknowledge that at some point the problem is likely to recur but if you are lucky that may not be for a long time. I've added notes on the follow-up to the records. Any signs of recurrence - just contact us directly. JB
No problem - I'll make another appointment to come back and see us. We'll retest it to see if it is measurably worse as it's coming up toa year since we last looked at it. If it is much worse we are probably more likely to opt for surgery, otherwise it might be manageable with steroid injection - we can discuss it once we have some new results. JB
