Treatment update
It is six weeks since I had my treatment at Canterbury hospital and, as requested, here is an update. I had left hand level one one and right ( my working hand), level three. I had a steroid injection in my right hand and I have worn a splint every night since then. I have consolidated with my left hand and there is no discernible change or problem. There has been a significant positive change with my right hand. It took about 4 days to settle down, slightly longer than specified. I have had no episodes of CTS overnight. I have had about three episodes of CTS during the day. All for about 10 seconds duration and of medium intensity. Two of these were at work and in situations where I have had to get into unusual positions with the wrist whilst accessing feet. Accordingly, I am very pleased with my treatment. Thank you again for all your help. Kind regards, john Bevan CAN I NOW STOP WEARING THE SPLINT OVERNIGHT?
You can indeed stop wearing the splint. Glad to hear it's improved for the present. Of course there is a significant chance of relapse at some point in the next couple of years so just contact us directly if and when it happens. It may be more likely if you are regularly carrying out strenuous manual tasks in awkward positions. JB
