Review after splint
Is it possible for CTS to get worse after the splint? As thats how it feels? Was in agony washing and brushing my daughters hair earlier which doesnt normally affect it.
Hi Jeremy, could we please sort out steroid injections please as i have been without the splint and its just getting worse.
Thanks
Megan
I'll have a look at the state of the diary tomorrow and we'll be having a conference woth next week's team over the COVID-19 situation. Check back here tomorrow. JB
Sorry nothing much to report today. I can probably arrange injection for the week beginning 4th May if the relevant staff don't go down with COVID. JB
Hey,i have lost all feeling in my thumb constant for 2days now, never had this before for so long is it a normal progression of carpal tunnel?
It does sound as though it's getting worse. Unfortunately Emma has injured herself and will probably not be in at all this week I think so I'm a bit stuck now for investigation and treatment facilities. I'll take to me chief scientist this morning and see if we can at least get it tested to see what we are dealing with. JB
As you will see on the patient information page I have facilities for a limited number of patients next week on Wednesday/Thursday and I will add you to the list. I'm going to spend Monday morning trying to put the clinic together, mostly by phone I think. JB
I'm afraid that, rather predictably, I've filled all the avsailable spaces this week at the moment but I hope I will be able to do something similar next week. Keep an eye on the patient information page. JB
Not usually, but if they are fastened too tightly they can block the circulation, which can cause problems, and inflammatory arthritis can be worsened by immobilisation. The other possibility of course is that the CTS is just getting worse. I assume you are just trying them at night, not wearing continuously? Try leaving them off for a couple of nights and see how things change - one of the handy things about them is that you can experiment like this. JB
