Tennis Elbow
Good morning. I am in full appreciation that services are suspended due to COVID-19 but I am sure you can still advise me. I have held back on having a second steroid injection because you told me that you can only really have a couple for it to be affective. I contacted you a while back, because my thumb was twitching in my left hand, which is my worst. In the background, I have had tennis elbow, in my left arm, for quite a while which, when I had a job change 3 months ago, I thought would go away but it is back with a vengeance. It is very painful and I can only successfully lift seemingly light objects, at a certain angle.
I am wandering if this is linked to Carpal Tunnel. If so, when you are ready, I would like to have another injection, to see if there is a positive affect on my elbow.
Kind Regards
Darren
Okay. I am back to being kept awake with pins and needles at night and the same when holding things during the day, in the left wrist, due to CTS. I held back on further treatment, to see if the tennis elbow got worse because when you gave me the injection before, all pain from arm to shoulder went. Therefore, my logic was that I could, at least, kill 2 birds with one stone. Sorry for the delay. I thought that when you replied, the forum automatically emailed me.
Regards
DC
I think it only emails you automatically if you opt in to that - there is a checkbox at the bottom of the 'Post new forum topic' screen for 'email me when there is a reply'. I'm not sure offhand whether you also have to allow emails from the site in your account settings (we don't send out spam though). I'll add you to the list of patients for review. It would help me a lot if you could add a diagnostic questionnaire to the website. It saves a lot of faffing around with paper in the department if we have documented the symptoms that way. You actually have two accounts on the website at present, the other one being dazc, but that one doesn't have any questionnaire data attached to it so I'm going to delete it so that you just have one. Thankyou. Looks like moderately severe symptoms. I should be able to get you seen next week I think as long as you are not obviously suffereing from COVID-19. I'll start calling patients for next week on Friday afternoon but as there are 20 or so I may end up making some appointments either during the weekend or on Monday. JB
There is some misunderstanding there as we don't limit the number of injections. I have one patient who has had 14 and they remain effective. Tennis elbow and CTS are unconnected as far as I know. Many people do limit the number of injections for that so I wonder are you referring to the elbow or the CTS? JB
