Dear Doctor Bland,
Auds had her second injection on Monday 5th March with Dr Miles but the early signs of any improvemant were were not encouraging. As of today, Friday 9th March, the symptons of numbness and tingling are back as they were.
Audrey has requested me to ask you about having the operation. Could you please be so kind to make the arrangements for this. We await your guidance. Thanks for your help. Auds

I rather thought we might need surgery sooner or later given how bad it was. I'll see if I can find you a surgery appointment and put a letter in the post. JB

I've found a surgery slot in Whitstable near the end of April - I hope that will serve - a letter is in the post. See if the dates work for you when the letter arrives and if it is a problem get in touch again and we will see what other alternatives are possible. JB 12.3.12

Dear Doctor Bland,
Thanks again for your help in arranging the surgery for Auds at Whitstable, At this moment we have not received any letter confirming this. Am I being a little hasty in my expectations ? Didn't want to miss the slot if the letter has gone astray.

We do seem to see some remarkable postal delays - the hospital sends everything out second class and sometimes uses unusual commercial letter services when there seems to be a good deal on offer so it may just be that, but the 12th March to 1st April is getting to be rather a long time even for hospital post. I try not to post actual dates for all and sundry to read on here but we will try to get them to you somehow. JB

Dear Doctor Bland,
Pleased to inform you that Auds had the surgery last evening at Whitstable and we wil return there in 2 weeks to have stitches removed. Thanks for everything and I will update you later.
Incidently, we never did receive the hard copy by post for the appointment so just as well you were able to e-mail me with the dates and times.

Thanks for your kind attention at all times Auds

One cannot help harbouring a suspicion that some bags of post end up in ditches. Glad to hear the operation got done as intended though. Hopefully it is not too uncomfortable by today. JB

Dear Dr Bland,

I attended the Medical Centre at Whitstable last evening for removal of the stitches on my right palm. The wound looked
good. Then I was passed over to Dr Ribchester. I told him that I'd had bleeding from the wound on Sunday 29 April (5 days after surgery). We went along to the Walk-In Centre at our local hospital and saw a Sister. She examined the hand, and
assured us that it was only "seepage" and quite natural. There was no more bleeding. Dr R explained to me all the "do's and dont's" from now on. I am very gently applying Bio-Oil around the wound as the skin has become very dry and taut.

Look forward to seeing you - perhaps in 6 weeks' time?
Best regards.

Auds Jackson.

PS. We shall be away from 22 to 26 May inclusive, should you be contacting us.

I normally write to patients to find out how they are getting on about 3 months after surgery rather than the 6 weeks that we do with injection. I usually only see again patients in whom there is a problem or those who want the other hand operated. How are the CTS symptoms feeling now? JB

Dear Dr Bland,

The CTS symptoms have disappeared completely, I'm glad to say. The only feeling is tenderness/soreness along the base of the thumb and the lower palm, so am bypassing handwriting for few days. Very happy with the outcome!

Regards,
Auds Jackson.

Sounds good so far then - you will get the standard follow-up letter more or less 3 months after surgery - we do them in batches so the timing is not exact. JB

Dear Doctor Bland,
For the past 2-3 weeks I have had swelling, redness and burning soreness on and around the scar on my palm.
I saw my GP a week ago and he prescribed Ibuleve ointment. This has not made any difference. I saw my GP again today and he wants Dr Ribchester who performed the operation to have a look at my hand. I phoned the Estuary Centre today and they advised me to contact you first. Mat I have your advice please.
Regards
Auds

It's a bit late to be getting an infection I think so I will need to see that. I'll have a look what I can do next time I am in the office on Thursday. JB
