Judt completed questionnaire
Hi, I've just completed and fear I may have completed incorrectly as my result has come back with 9% chance of CTS, I have had CTS surgery on both hands 13 years ago, the symptoms have returned in my left hand, non dominant hand, severe numbness, tinkling permanently now. Have worn a hand splint for last month which hadn't helped at all. My fear is now that questionnaire has come back as 9%, will I be offered an appointment, my gp has referred me. This type of system all very new to me. Regards Tracy
Thank you for your prompt response and for seeing me so soon. Will look forward to meeting yourself on 15th March. Regards Tracy
The questionnaire is calibrated for new presentations with CTS and it doesn't really work for people who have had previous carpal tunnel operations in the affected hand(s). Recurrent CTS after surgery is fairly rare but it does happen and it is a much more complex problem to deal with than CTS the first time around. We will see you and try to figure out what is going on but we don't treat these as 'just another carpal tunnel case' and I will want to put you in a clinic where I can think about the problem and look at the ultrasound imaging as well as the NCS results. I've booked you in on Monday 15th March and put a letter in the post. JB
