Finger aches 10 years after surgery

I had Carpal Tunnel release surgery 10 years ago on both hands. The surgery was successful, however over the last few years I have noticed my joints ache most of the time. I don't get any numbness or pain like I had prior to the surgery, however together with the joint pain, my grip isn't as strong as it once was.
Could this be the start of Carpal Tunnel complications, or something else?
It sounds more likely to be something else from that brief description. You may need to see a rheumatologist. JB
