Right hand after op
I had the surgery on my right hand but the skins now peeling around the edge and it's sharp what should I use to soften it.
I've used vitamin e oil on mine and its now the same as my hand, now about 8 weeks post op.
It should be safe to massage with any ordinary aqueous cream or oil by that point. It's quite common to get a bit of crusty dead skin around cuts like this. JB
The skin has stopped being crusty now just I have two lumps at the top and bottom and when anything touches them they hurt and it feels like an electric shock almost.
Though a nuisance that's not a great cause for concern at this point - the scar will still be remodelling and there will still be some residual inflammation. Your median nerve will now be lying directly under the scar so if you poke it you will sometime irritate the nerve. JB
OK I think It was just a bit of stitch left in there I think it's healing properly and still haven't recived that phone call you said about to check how it was healing and to see when to book the next one
So far as I know the hand surgeons are still doing telephone follow-ups after surgery. If Nick sees this comment he might reply too. JB
Apparently there have been some problems with telephone follow-up but they think they are sorted now. Just stay in touch with me on here. JB
I have forwarded your details to our follow up therapists, they should be in contact soon. Nick
Next Tuesday I believe. You should receive a formal telephone appointment time notification. Nick
How long ago was the operation? JB
