Really struggling at the moment. My feet keep going knumb which is causing me to not be able to walk properly. Any advice?
It's more on the top of the whole foot and the toes, so annoying. I know I can't change the hnpp but didn't know if there was anything I could use to help like splints or anything like that. My hands and elbows are still really bad too and didn't know if there was any supports I could use for those or not too
If it's the top of the foot it's possible that it may be the peroneal nerve at the knee which being compressed (we're supposed to call it the fibular nerve now). Do you have a tendency to trip over the foot too? I can test it for you to check if you wish but again there are no easy fixes. JB
Yes I do trip over my feet. I would be grateful if you could check. I know there's no easy fixes but least I will know if there's something wrong
Unfortunately I have no clever solutions to this one - I can't change your genes and I'm afraid you are stuck with the HLPP. The only thing I would wonder is whether the symptoms in the feet are just a manifestation of the general nerve problem, or whether there is additional pressure on one of your nerves somewhere in the leg - and we know your nerves are unusually susceptible to pressure. Does the numbness in the feet have any recognisable distribution to it - ie is it like a short sock, or just on the outside or inside of the foot or sole more than the top the foot etc? JB
