Skin bleaching

Hi
Had steroid injections in both wrists back in March this year however I have, in the last few weeks noticed circles of skin bleaching. Would this be due to browning in the sun or a delayed effect of the steroids?
As an update, generally my CPS is much better with only a couple of uncomfortable days every few weeks, however I do still need to wear splints most nights to avoid night-time numbness.

Whitening of the skin at the injection site usually appears pretty quickly after injection. I haven't seen it develop months later but I wonder if it's actually the surrouding skin becoming browner in the SUmmer and making it more obvious? JB
