Return of symptoms after injection
Hello Dr Bland
I had very successful injections into both wrists in August 2011 and have been very happily symptom free until the last few weeks. I am now waking in the morning with the tingling and numbness again (both hands) and sometimes affected during the day if I am driving or gardening or similar.Tthe symptoms are not nearly as bad as before and bearable at the moment but I wondered if I should now be looking for some further treatment? Is it possible to have further injections or should I now be considering surgery? I look forward to hearing from you
Lindsay
Yes you are right about deferring the surgery. I even went to my pre op assessment but as it was responding really well to the injections there seemed no point in surgery at that time. I can normally make most times for an appointment but I am not available on 26 April or 23/24 May.I look forward to hearing from you - will that be on this forum or do I need to phone in for the appointment?
Thank you
I'll send an appointment letter out in the post as usual. I try not to broadcast to the world on here the fact that anyone will be in a particular place (or more especially away from their home) at any particular time. JB
We were originally contemplating surgery but I think it responded so well to injection that we deferred that, if my records are correct. As we last tested you in June I think it would be useful if we knew the current physiological state of your CTS before making a final decision on the best course of action so I will try to arrange an appointment sometime in the next few weeks - are there any times which are especially bad for your schedule?
