Return of symptoms
I last had an injection last November, unfortunately the symptoms have returned, although not yet as severe as last autumn (but I would prefer it not to get to that stage!)
I have resumed using the night splint but with little effect.
I suspect/know I need another injection, but presume nerve induction studies first. If so Thursday mornings are best if possible. Thanks
I'll ring the SIPC on Monday and see if I can book an appointment (there's probably a bit of a wait).
Regarding the nerve tests I am happy to pop up one Thursday morning or just go for the injection, which ever you would prefer.
I am still reluctant to have surgery as the injections give excellent results, although not for such long periods of time.
Ok I'll try to find a space for NCS once I get back in to the office again, though we are pretty fully booked at present. Please let me know the date the office come up with for injection and I will try to work around that. JB
Given a date for injection (16th May)
I have told the SIPC that I may not have had the nerve tests prior to the injection - just in case I cant be fitted in.
Someone has cancelled from this Thursday morining (26th April) if you are free then?
Sorry, only just looked at forum.
Yes I can pop up tomorrow (Thursday), as long as its before 10.30 am.
I'll check this thread later or ring clinic in the morning to get a time. Thanks
The space was at 11:00 but if you want to come early (ideally turn up at about 8:30 though that may mean some hanging around) we can try to fit in an extra at the start of the clinic and keep the 11:00 slot for catch-up. JB
Just to update you. I had the steriod injection (4th) on 16th May.
As usual excellent results - no tingling, no numbness and no waking in the night!
Just hope this one lasts longer than the last one. Thanks
My basic view of these is that they seem to be essentially random in duration each time you do them, regardless of what has gone before, so it will be interesting to see. Keep in touch please JB
If you want to give this a 4th injection rather than surgery then you could call the SIPC office to arrange it now anyway I think. Your CTS has been stable at a mild grade for 3 years and if you do not feel that it is yet as bad as it has been in the past then it is very unlikely to have taken a dramatic turn for the worse physiologically so we could probably re-inject it even without repeating the NCS but if you can spare the time then I will arrange for repeat tests when we can find a space.
