Previous surgery
Beginning of September I had surgery on my right hand.
The hand itself feels much worse and I'm unable to do many simple activities activities such as opening bottles or jars.
Doing things are still very painful and the numbness has become worse in my 3 middle fingers.
Hello Dr Bland
Thank you for seeing me so quickly last week.
I know you said everything looked good on the ultrasound but I'm concerned that the pain is getting worse and I'm now unable to even raise myself from seating using my right hand.
Just wondered if you had any idea what could be occurring.
It's most likely that this is just severe tenderness around the operation site which can be a problem in some patients. This may be more common when there has been a peri-operative wound infection I don't think there is conclusive proof of that in the literature. I don't suppose you have heard anything from hand therapy yet? JB
Evening Dr Bland
The sensitivity has become much, much worse and I'm unable to massage the area without severe pain. My fingers feel extremely weak.
Drop in and see us tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and we'll take a look - anytime between about 8:30 and 11:30. JB
Sorry Dr Bland only just seen your reply to my last message. Sorry that I didn't attend last week. Unfortunately struggling quite a bit with the hand and it's very painful now
Looks like the operation was 31st August. Can you add a new symptom severity score to the website for me please and I'll arrange to see you week beginning 24th October if you are available. JB
