Repeat of tests?

I have had two lots of cortisone injections since you diagnosed CTS in both of my hands last year (injections in both hands in November 2011, then another one in the right hand only at the end of April as the symptoms returned.
The symptoms have now returned in my right hand again, and when I called to try and arrange another cortisone injection, they told me I needed to have another round of tests as it has been more than six months since my last lot of tests, which I thought was a little odd as I had the second injection well after six months!
Is this correct? If so, I shall call your office to arrange an appointment.

I didn't have a hand in arranging the second injection - which I have recorded as only the right hand -is that right? Once we go beyond a first injection we are pretty much leaving the realms of evidence based medicine so I tend to be fairly cautious about multiple injection repeats without monitoring fairly closely what is happening to your median nerves. Your original tests were in August last year so they are a little more than a year ago and I do think it would be a good idea to check that things are not deteriorating. We will arrange a repeat test in the next few weeks. JB
