Injection follow up
Nearly 2 weeks post injections, the right hand feels normal, the left has occassional slight pins and needle in thumb and finger tips, but a vast improvement on before. I did have a slight bruise on the left wrist for a week so maybe it will need a bit longer to improve.
It was Dr Beech at Sandgate Rd, he was very good, explained everything from the beginning. Also as I had worked for SEH/Seadoc for 10 years we had an interesting chat.
How long should I wear the splints for at night?
JN
Carry on splinting until the symptoms have stabilised and then try leaving them off for a week and see what happens. JB
Thanks,I think they are probably stabilised now so I will try not using splints.
I may see you on 18/12 as my wife Pat is bringing her peripheral neuropathy to your clinic for tests, including an EMG, she would like to know if that is similar to the CTS test or a needle is inserted into the nerve/muscle.
JN
Should not require needles generally, though occasionally we will carry out a needle exam for peripheral neuropathy. We have tested her twice before so she should know what to expect - the first time as long ago as 1991! JB
Quite a good result so far for a fairly bad CTS but I think your symptoms were fairly modest to start off with - one of the reasons we chose to inject was it not? Who did the injections - the records have not reached me yet? JB
