Hi had carpal surgery done on my left hand in January this year. It took longer to heal than when had right hand done
and am still experiencing a shooting pain up left arm and feels like there is a lump where the scaring is. Do you have any advice that may help

OK so the scar area can sometimes be tender for a long time, or occasionally even permanently. The surgeons generally recommend determined massage for this though I'm not sure that the scientific evidence to support it it necessarily that strong. At least it probably does no harm. Use a suitable lubricant - bio-oil or aqueaous cream etc and massage firmly - you can rub the heel of the hand againt the knee or recruit a suitabke masseur :-) JB
