Family history of carpal tunnel & pregnant

I have an appointment on 28 Feb. I have had symptoms of CTS since I was 3 months old. I have had decompressions on both hands at the ages of 5 and 14. I am left handed and my median nerve has showed no response at nerve conduction studies for many years and I still have 'moderate' CTS in my right hand. It has been suggested that I do not have CTS but something that presents with the symptoms of CTS which I why the decompressions have not worked.

I struggle with activities of daily living due to poor manual dexterity and lack of sensation but do not get a lot of pain, presumably because the nerve is absent. My mother and brother also have CTS. I also have EDS Type III which results in joint pain and chronic fatigue

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and I am aware that CTS is more common in pregnancy. My main concern is that my right hand does not lose any more function. Is there anything I should be doing to protect my right hand?

I would wear a neutral angle wrist splint on it as much of the time as possible until we get a chance to take  a look at it - try to spare the nerve from the stresses and strains of everyday life so far as you can. JB
