Wearing wrist braces at night.
To Dr Jeremy Bland. Hi I have worn the wrist brace's on both hands now for 6weeks at night time. I must admit the last couple of weeks have been dreadful. The pains in both hands has increased and in my right hand is becoming more painful including my fingers becoming rigid and painful. I have been removing the wrist braces in the early hours of the mornings due to being uncomfortable and in severe pain I have continued loss of grip in both hands [ more so the right hand] I am experiencing continued throbbing and ache's in fingers. Should I think about possibly having the steroid injection? is this an option so early in diagnosis.? Kind Regards M Smith
Hello yes am experiencing intense shooting pain in palm of hands randomly during day and night. Index finger and middle finger in right hand goes rigid and painful randomly during day , wrist constantly ache's. Complete loss of strength in
right thumb.
Left hand is as before but random pain levels during day and night have increased.
Have completed new severity score.

Just an update, since having the steroid injection in right wrist [December] l have noticed reduced pain in this hand.
lt took several weeks before l noticed that its manageable pain in both hands now.

That rather sounds as though there may be another problem present, not just CTS. I should probably see you again to have a think about it. Can you add a new symptoms severity score here please (option from the home page while you are logged in) and I'll see when I can fit you in.
