New pain in right hand
Unfortunately my right hand which was given a steroid injection last August, has cts back. The pain is not only in my hand, but also in my arm, albeit the pain in the arm has reduced now. I think the symptoms were caused by using a new cross trainer that you grip handles. Although I have stopped using the machine symptoms still persist. I am woken up through the night with pain and pins and needles. When I wake in the morning the hand is very painful and am unable to open my hand fully, like a claw!, and feels very swollen, this only lasts for about 5 to 10 mins. Throughout the day I may get pins and needles and some stiffness. It does not overly effect my everyday duties.
Iam pleased to say my left hand which was given a steroid injection last November is still good. The middle finger still feels as though burnt when touched, but have no other syptoms.
Hi. Thanks for offer of injection. Would like to take you up on it, but my husband (who will have to drive me from hospital to Ashford), will be out of country until 1 April. Is it possible to book me in the week of 1 April at some time please? Thanks for your quick response - most appreciated. Pauline ### or is it ok to drive myself after the injection??
We can probably also do Thursday 4th April, or we could try to get one done at a GP surgery. Driving afterwards is a tricky one! We have done 200+ injections on Thursday mornings in the last year or so and have not yet had a patient who was unable to drive afterwards but I have come across patients who report that they certainly would not have been able to drive for hours up to a couple of days after injection. This sort of painful reaction, thankfully, seems to be rare but it is clearly a risk and I could not guarantee that you would be able to drive afterwards - having had three previous injections you know yourself how you have reacted previously and that is probably as good a guide as anything. Hi, I would feel happier waiting until the 4th April. So could I please ask you to book me in for the 4th. What time would you like me to attend. Very many thanks. Pauline
As the right hand has not been injected since August 2012 it might make sense to re-inject that, especially as the most recent neurophysiology was only grade1 - we can probably do it for you on Thursday if you like. JB
