return of symptoms

Hi Dr bland
The symptoms have come back once again..... I think my 3rd and last injection was back in September, so at least it lasted a little while longer....but it certainly seems to be coming back with full vengeance again .... Is there any way i would be able to come in to see you to discuss options at all.
Many thanks
Tanya

The last injections were 19th October. The odd thing was that your nerve conduction studies were actually much better in August than they had been in January. As that is a somewhat odd pattern of events I think it would be desirable to test you again before embarking on surgery as that is really the next therapeutic option. There is a space in tomorrow afternoon's clinic created by a cancellation if you can make it at 4:00pm. JB

Hi..
If you remember i had only said at the time in august that the tingling feelings had only just started and were very slight and few and far between..and you asked me to come in just to see how it tested.... But then by Sept/Oct time they had come back with full force again .... Hence having the injections later on.... Yeah that's fine with me to come in to be tested again....the only thing is i can't really make it tomorrow very easily .... Sorry any other afternoon.... And i would have snapped it up....

I'll find a space in the next few weeks and send you out a letter then - the diary is rather densely packed at present I'm afraid. JB

Ok thank you.
If possible. Would you be able to try and make it an afternoon appointment. As i don't finish work til 13.30.

I can't find an afternoon slot until mid-May - letter in the post. JB

Just a quick question, my hands now are starting to really hurt during the day. I am finding that a can't pick anything up without them hurting.... It feels as thou they are bruised or aching inside pretty much constantly now...do you think this is the cts ....and should i now be wearin my splints during the day? Work is getting quite hard now. Am getting a little worried by it.

Ithink it's impossible to answer that one online - it could be CTS, or something else, or both. it may be that the only way to sort it out is by the response to treatment. JB

Hi... I am wondering if it is possible if i could have my right hand injected again .... I came in for tests some months back now and both sides were showing signs but my left hand was worse... And so we kind of concentrated on that one and i opted for surgery on my left which has most defiantly helped.... But we left my right hand as it wasn't that bad at the time and i had said it is was livable ... Well now it is starting to become quite bad again .... I had heard u don't operate on both so close together time wise and so am wondering if i could have it injected to try and ease it until it is possible to have the surgery may b on it... As the results from my left hand surgery have been great for me.

I'm glad the operation worked out OK. If it feels as though the right hand is going the same way we could book surgery for that as we have about a 10 week wait for Dr Rine at the moment (I presume you would like him to do the other side). If it's very troublesome at present then we could also inject it while waiting - I think Bill Warrilow did the previous injections and that could certainly be arranged again for the right side. JB

Hi well if it is possible to be able to have the op... Then that will b great ... Is it at all possible to be able to have it done after Christmas as it is one of our busiest times of year ... So i dont think my work would be to pleased if i was off work before Christmas....

Yes we can definitely arrange it after Xmas, I've provisionally booked a slot in January and will put an appointment letter in the post. What do you think about re-injecting in the meantime? JB

Thanku ...can i wait and see if i can try and do without the injection ... At least i know in a few months time it Will b getting treated, i hadnt thought that the op was possible yet .. If it gets to bad thou whilst waiting would i be able to perhaps change my mind and contact you about it.

We can inject it anytime but the closer it gets to surgery the less likely you will want to do it I suspect. If you are going to be particularly busy in the run-up to Xmas I would be inclined to do it before that rather than suffer with it but it's entirely up to you - you know exactly what is involved in both injection and surgery now.
