Hello Dr Bland, I had both wrists injected on th 28/03/2013 after being tested for cts, this is an update as requested. After 2 days my right hand was great, very little numbness or tingling, it is now very good, it is a case of realising ive gone a whole day and havent had pain, my left hand is still quite numb and tingling often, also very ichy, im hoping this will ease soon, on the whole my hands feel so much better, many thanks to you and your collegue.

So that's about a week or so post-injection. It sounds as though we may have had more success with the right side than the left. What we do now is wait until 6 weeks post injection. At that point, if you could drop back in to the website, complete as new symptom questionnaire (from the My CTS section) and then add another comment to this conversation, we will make a decision on what to do next. A few hands do show a response to steroids betwen 1 and 6 weeks. JB

hi Dr Bland, it is now 6 weeks or so since i had the injections in both wrists, i am so pleased to say that i have no pain, numbness or tingling in my hands, i do get more cramps in my fingers but then i was getting this before if i gripped anything for a few minutes and it soon passes, it has made such a difference to my sleeping too, no pain waking me all the time, i hope it carries on for a long time. regards vivi

Thankyou - it sounds as though we can count those as initially successful injections then. Would you mind adding a new severity score the website for me please - go to the My CTS Record page and click the 'take a new severity score test' link. JB

Good morning Dr Bland, im a little gutted to be putting a message on here as i thought i was doing so well after having injections in march, unfortunatly i seem to be having problems again. it started about 2 months ago, i waited as i did wonder if it was my imagination, but it is gradually begining to get worse and waking me through the night, my left hand is the worse at the moment although my right seems to be catching this up. i have lots of numbness and pain is beginning in both, should i go back to my gp and request a referal to you or wait a bit longer.

regards, vivi

Hello dr Bland, I had a second lot of injections in both my wrists on the 14/10/2013, unfortunately I am again having problems, my left wrist/ arm is the worst although I am feeling signs that my right is going the same way. I have terrible numbness, tingling, itching and pain, I am wearing a wrist support in bed each night but I am still having lots of broken nights due to pain and numbness, it is also affecting my day time activities, I would be very grateful if I could come and see you and maybe have the tests redone. Regards vi
