weakened wrists

hi dr bland
have been wearing splints for 4 weeks now. and feel my wrists have become very weak as a result of this and still suffering knumbness in my fingers. please advise as to keep wearing splints or what happens next.

Hopefully you are only wearing them at night and if so then they should not produce wrist weakness. If it has not made any difference to the fingers by this time we should probably go on to try steroid injection next. You can arrange this by calling the surgery in primary care office on 01233 667884 or 01233 667 885. They will make you a booking with a GP somewhere nearby who we trust to do it. JB
