Returned symptons need another injection
My symptons have returned and I feel it is time for another injection. Is this possible without having an appointment for the nerve tests?
Thanks, probably not the answer I was hoping for but would be grateful if you could fit me in asap.
Many thanks David
If you can make it I can fit in one extra patient at 8:30 am on Thursday 9th May and we could probably inject it on the spot if that is the decision regarding treatment. JB
Many apologies for not giving feedback sooner but I was on holiday immediately after the injection and then I'm afraid I forgot. After about a week the symptons in my hand had almost completely gone and I'm happy to say that, apart from the odd tingle during the night that is the current situation.
Once again, thanks for the very prompt treatment.
Regards David
I'm glad it seems to have worked again without problems. I've just added some new data to the website page on steroids regarding treatment by serial injection as a few interesting new papers have appeared. I guess your CTS will be back again at some point but it will be interesting to see how long it takes this time. We now have a handful of patients who have had 4 or more injections and I will try to gather their data together sometime in the next few weeks as there seems to be a bit of interest in the topic at present and it might be a good time to start looking at what data we have already. After this length of time I think it is unwise - your last nerve conduction tests were 18 months ago and are seriously out of date and in addition you had a pretty severe (grade 5) CTS even then. I think many hand surgeons would feel that persevering with a 4th injection in these circumstances is tantamount to malpractice so I really would want to meet with you again and discuss the issues before proceeding. I will try to fit you in somewhere soon though if you are available. JB
