Recurring symptoms

Hi,
Things did improve, but are now getting uncomfortable again.
I have now finished my job as a Postwoman as I now care full time for my in laws at home. So I am finding it harder to assist due to on and off numbness.
Any chance I could have another steroid injection?

I don't seem to have a record of the first injection - do you by any chance have a note of who did it and the date? As grade 2 in December we could certainly consider injecting it again - does it yet feel as uncomfortable as it was just before we tested it? JB

Hi
Had it done on thurs 20th December I believe, at K&C, on a drop in.
Symptoms are getting worse every day, back to wearing splint.

Looks like we may have forgotten to enter that one in the main database then - it should be in Nick's records so I'll check there. If you want to drop into the clinic again this Thursday morning we could consider re-injecting it and if someone else fails to turn up we might find time to test it again too. JB

HI,
I am having a bit of trouble with my hand, but I am not sure if its carpal tunnel symptons again.
Where as before it has always been my fingers and thumb, its now my hand. I am going to see my GP next thursday to ask about it. I seem to have a trapped or pinched nerve in my left shoulder, which runs down to my elbow, which aches like mad, and many occasions the elbow will click. My wrist also feels weak, and I struggle with lifting/holding things that are heavy with it, I dont seem to be able to grip as well.
I will complete an upto date diagnostic on here and update you with what the GP says.

It does sound a bit extensive for CTS but it is always possible that the CTS is contributing a significant part of the symptoms. We can test it again fairly easily to see if it is getting measurably worse - let me know what your GP thinks on Thursday. JB

I went to see The GP. He has asked for some blood tests but is also referring back to you, so I expect you will hear from him soon. Julie

I'll organise an appointment anyway without waiting for a GP referral to filter through - we have the queue down to about 3 weeks at present. JB

Hi Dr Bland
I am back to having trouble with my left again. The numbness, pins and needles and a general ache to the whole hand, which is mainly causing me trouble through the day.
I am struggling to hold the steering wheel and change gear with my left hand, as well as my work now involves use of a mini IPad, which I struggle to hold, as well as a mobile phone for too long.

I have been seeing a physio, referred by GP, regarding my shoulder pain, and so have been completing exercises which may have aggravated the carpal tunnel.
I will start wearing my splint agin to try and ease symptoms. I have completed a new diagnostic questionnaire, where I noticed some injection treatments had not been added, so I have added to the best of my knowledge.
Would it be worth me coming in for re testing. It seems the injections are only lasting about 6 months.

Look forward to hearing from you.

I seem to be missing a record of the third injection too - I just have my note of 15th October saying we were arranging it. After three we probably should be giving serious consideration to surgery so I guess the ideal option is to see you again and discuss it. I'll get an appointment sent out. JB

Thanks for the reminder - I seem to have missed doing that one. I could squeeze you in at the end of tomorrow's morning clinic at 13:00 if you are free. JB
