Zingers after steroid injection
Hello,
I had bilateral steroid injections 3 days ago. Right wrist went smoothly but my median nerve in my left wrist was poked, felt pain and a zap through my middle finger. My right wrist is mostly fine but my left wrist is still getting zinging pain mostly through my middle finger, but occasionally in my index and palm with certain movements. Is this common? And will it get better? It has me worried and I haven’t been able to do anything with my hand these past few days.
I am in the US. I have now developed burning in my palms. It started last night as I was sleeping, but it is now mainly in my left palm. Is this common?
It can certainy happen if they went aheda and injected into the nerve instead of repositioning the needle. Was it very painful when they were actusally injecting, as opposed to just when they initially placed the needle.? JB
That will usually settle over a few days as long as the injection itself was not given into the nerve. Where were they done? JB
