4 week update on splint use
Dear Mr Bland,
I have been using the splints every night as agreed when I saw you. For the first 2 weeks everything went fine, but although I rarely wake in pain during the night the numbness and pain is becoming more prevalent.
I now think that maybe I should have chosen a different treatment.
I have had a look, and also talked to my GP, would it be possible to operate on the right, as it's the worst, and inject the left?? Just a thought. Thanks.
Yes we could certainly do that. There is one space available for surgery next weekend I think - if you are interested? JB
If you want to take that slot I'll try to get an appointment letter to you beforehand and will call with the exact details anyway - Saturday. JB
Seems I have no phone number for you but I have emailed the surgery appointment letter to the address you gave in your registration on the website. JB
I guess the chances of a dramatic response to splinting were always going to be quite slim with a fairly severe CTS but its always worth a try. The other options are steroid injection or surgery and you could go for either here. Have a read through the pages of the website relating to treatment and prognosis and then let me know which you would like me to arrange. JB
