post op hand exercises

I noticed that some of the forum topics mention post op hand exercises. I am going to have my right hand operated on the 25th June and would love to have the exercises in advance. Is there anywhere I can download them?
How long would you advise for time off after the operation? I presently work part time doing secretarial work which includes duties of typing, mouse control, writing minutes and carrying patient notes. I also teach painting which involves carrying heavy boxes and demonstrating (I am right handed).

Our hand therapists have a CTS document which includes some post-op exercise recommendations - this can be found HERE. I am afraid there is not a lot of concrete scientific evidence to show that they improve the outcome though.
For non-heavy-manual work about 2 weeks off after surgery is about average but it may be good to avoid heavy lifting if you can for 3-4 weeks. JB
