Recurrence of symptoms
My symptoms have returned in my right hand and in about 2 weeks have gone from nothing to irritating to almost intolerable! Is it possible to arrange an appointment for an injection please? Thank you.
Thank you for your reply. I have e-mailed you instead of going into detail here.
Has your e-mail address changed? I've used the address you e-mailed me from in July 2012. It ends @ekht.nhs.uk. Thank you.
Yes they have turned that system off I'm afraid and we have all moved to nhs.net. The new version is in the contacts page of the website. Jeremy [dot] Bland [at] nhs [dot] net JB
Thanks, have sent to that address. Sorry for taking up so much of your time.
That's getting to be a lot of injections (5 to the right hand by my records over 4 years) and we ought to be thinking about the surgical option quite seriously. The risks associated with large numbers of injections are essentially unknown and if we carry on injecting there is a possibility for example of damaging the tendons which flex the fingers. We simply have no real idea of how large such risks are, nor any idea what other effects might be produced by large numbers of injections at the carpal tunnel. I'm sure we have had this discussion before when you had the 5th injection and of course the surgical option is not without risk but at least the risks of surgery are well known and quantifiable. If you are sure you want to venture into the unknown with another injection then we may be able to arrange that on Thursday - but I will need to check with Michael Nicholas who did the last one as his schedule is changing soon.
