steroid injections
pain is in both my wrists and i am finding it hard to do my work,is it possible that i could have appointment to see you at canterbury
Thanks I've added that to your registration details on the site and removed it from your message as they are not intended to be public. You are another patient that is getting to a stage where you have had a lot of injections and we should be thinking about surgery. I'll arrange a review appointment as soon as I can but it is busy at present. The issues around treatment by long term serial injection are complex and I may have to produce a page of the website which I can refer patients to rather than repeating the discussion in the forum each time it arises, but for the present I am going to continue the policy of seeing patients who wish to pursue this treatment approach in person. Hi i just wanted to confirm appointment this saturday at canterbury at 2-30 is still ok
The 2:30 appointment has gone but I can manage 4:30 pm on Saturday. We won't be able to inject but at least we can test and have a discussion about how to proceed. JB
Thankyou for seeing me on sat i have thought about what you said about having so many steroids,i have decided not to go ahead with op at present time. Please could you arrange for me to have steroid in both wrists via pct so i could go local to my surgery many thanks stuart
You can just call the SIPC office to arrange that - usual number. If you call them today the main records will not have been amended to reflect this conversation on the website so they may need to check here to see that we have agreed this. Sometime tomorrow I will make a note in the main records that you are going for further injection. JB
Hi i just phoned to make appt at pct they would only give appt for right wrist, i know level was quite low on left but as i am left handed & use this the most would you be so kind to allow me to have steroids in both wrists. many thanks sj
So far as I am concerned you can have both done. The booking office do not make decisions about this however and the final decision on exactly what to do rests with the person actually giving the injection as they would be medico-legally responsible for anything that went wrong and they are the person in a position to take account of anything that might have changed since the patient saw me . There have been instances of physiotherapy staff, who do the injections for the CTS pathway in some cases, deciding not to do them at all in patients who I have sent for injection. Your last two have been done by Dr Beach and if you manage to catch him before he retires I think he will probably be happy to inject both. JB
Thankyou for reply dr beach is taking no more patients having to go to charing i will book appointment hopefully they will do both thanks again
I'm sorry but I do not think I know you. Your account on the site is not linked to a Canterbury reference number and I cannot match your name (At least as represented in the user account email addresses) to a carpal tunnel clinic record. Can you give me some more identity clues please. I try to confine my practice to patients from my own geographical area and patients need a referral from their GP to begin with. JB
