Operation
I have now seen my GP who thinks the problem is most likely all CTS and didn't think another injection would help. I have been using the splints during the day and my chiropractor has been working on my arms, and did relieve some of the symptoms, but the numbness at night has got worse again waking me at least 4 times a night and taking a long time to get the feeling back in my fingers. Do you have any dates for operating in November please. Many thanks
Herne Bay would be fine for me. Is it possible to have an injection whilst waiting for surgery to relieve the symptoms and get some sleep.
Thank you for all your help
We can certainly inject it again - the only thing to consider is what we will do about surgery if the symptoms remit entirely with another injection. We are always a little wary of operating on patients who have no symptoms at the time. JB
In that case I think I will wait for the operation, they do only do one hand at a time?
Yes one hand at a time I'll book a November slot as soon as we have confirmed the operating lists. JB
The symptoms certainly seemed pretty suggestive of CTS last time I saw you and I did think then that probably the best option would be surgery though in fact you could inject again if you want to - contrary to your GPs view in fact every injection seems to be just like starting again from scratch and the prior responses are not very useful in predicting the response to the next one. The previous good (if transient) responses to injection are believed to indicate a good prognosis for surgery as well. I could certainly find you a space in November in Herne Bay - I couldn't promise anything in Ashford. I have not yet confirmed all the November operating lists with the surgeon but should be able to book something for you in the next few days as long as you donlt mind the trip to Herne Bay. JB
