Update on symptoms and repeat question
On 20/09 I posted, as requested, an update as to how I was getting on with my splints you gave me. I said then that in spite of difficulty in sleeping with them, they did seem to help the night-time symptoms, but I continue to have a problem with numbness and tingling during the day. I asked if it were possible that the thumb spica splints I wear due to severe osteoarthritis of both thumbs were causing these daytime problems.
Sorry I haven't responded before; my computer has been out of action for a few weeks, then I have been away. I have tried doing without the thumb spicas as much as possible, but I'm still getting the carpal tunnel symptoms during the day. You mentioned steroid injections next?
Steroid injection would be the logical thing to try next given the relatively minimal findings on your investigations. We can do that for you on a Monday morning in Canterbury if you can get to us? JB
Yes, I can get to you on a Monday morning - though not the 25th November
Lynne
I'm sorry - after I posted my comment, I developed acute cholecystitis and subsequently been unable to attend to other things!
It's too late for the dates you gave, obviously. As I need time to book transport [and as I'm still suffering rather from my gall bladder], can I have an appointment date for in the New Year?
Sorry I haven't got back to you before.

BY the way, I've just noted that your forum list gives this reply as created at 07;17am - I actually wrote it about 13:15!
Should be no problem to arrange at short notice whenever you feel up to it so just let me know the week before. Time representation on the site can be a bit odd sometimes - the server is in the USA - however that last message is showing up as about 13:26 here JB
I did reply - really I can't tell if the thumb spica's are aggravating anything - I would need to see them on your hands and have a think about the mechanics of it. You have to go back to your original posting to see my reply - they are linked together on the website in a 'thread'. If there are still significant symptoms despite several weeks splinting we might think about trying a local steroid injection next. JB
